How did I get here? Well here's the story. I have loved photography since I was very young. I bought my first 35mm camera at the age of 12 and have been taking pictures since. I always enjoyed how my pictures brought smiles to the faces of those I photographed and always wanted to learn more.
When I was 17 I was a driver for my cousin's wedding and when we went to take pictures at the river, I watched the professional photographer they hired and tried to take similar pictures with my own camera. The one thing I did notice was the photographer was miserable. He rarely smiled and had no fun.
When all was said and done, I took my rolls of film, this was way way before the digital age, to the developer and gave the prints to my cousin in case he might have liked one or two. Turns out my pictures were better than the professional photographer. Who would have guessed? I have been taking wedding pictures ever since and the one important thing I learned is that the more pleasant you are, the better the pictures come out.
Nothing says you cant have fun while you work after all. Recently, I was talking to a friend and they were telling me how much money they were paying for holiday and god forbid, Senior pictures. I decided to look into this. Come to find out I can do the same pictures the other studios were doing and a considerable lower cost. Since then I have been doing senior portraits and saving people money while having fun at the same time. Win win if you ask me.
Then came sports pictures. Once again, out of aggravation with other professional photographers, high prices, and pictures coming back after the season was over, I ventured out again to see if I could accomplish the same task at a lower rate and quicker. I was. Now anyone can make mistakes, but when you make them it shouldn’t take months to fix. I pride myself on a quick turn around and correcting any errors as quickly as possible. Now I'm in the sports portraits business as well.
Finally, at least for now, I have also ventured into the videography arena. I do DVD's of sporting events, football for now of course, and produce them into almost television productions. Soon you'll be able to see a clip here.
I also do memorial DVD's for lost loved ones and viewings. As always I try to be fast and at a low cost. So there I am in a nutshell. Mother necessity has inspired me, now I'm here for you. Being my own boss, I can be extremely flexible for you and your family and friends so please don’t hesitate to call or write with your questions and concerns.
Sincerely
Mark Kaye
